Maternity Ward
This program was developed out of the need for a safe place for Momma cats to raise their families. Shelters are a very scary place for cats, and Momma needs to feel safe in order to raise her young. We have helped several Mommas raise their babies until everyone was able to find Forever Homes.
Kitten Kindergarten
When orphans or singletons are found, they need an enriching environment where they can learn to be their fierce selves. We provide the care and space that they need in order to grow and develop.

Charm School
Cats do not do well in the shelter environment and they can often "present" as "mean." We take these cats into our care and let them show their true colors. In a calm, quiet, and safe place, these cats have all had improved dispositions and went on to find Forever Homes.
Community TNR and Free Spay/Neuter Services
We believe that education and empowerment are essential to the improvement of Animal Welfare. Therefore, we provide FREE TNR and Spay/Neuter services to the public. Whether it is one cat, or 30 (yes, we have done that many,) we are happy to help. Email us a GuardiansfortheanimalsTX@gmail.com for more information.

TLC Medical Program
Sometimes cats need something extra to restore them to their fabulous selves. Whether that is a tripod cat, a half-blind cat, or a kitten with a back injury like Flounder here, we love taking on that challenge and working together with our Vets to help these special souls live their best lives.
Rescue Data
We believe that trust is built through transparency. Here is our Rescue Data since our founding in 2018. We started off saving as many as we could whenever we could through transports and adoptions from 2018-2020. During the height of 2020, fosters and adopters were available like never before and animals were almost never in the shelter; except for a specific population.
We learned during 2020 that a specific population of animals were staying in the shelters despite a surplus of fosters/adopters. These were the bottle babies, neonates, families of cats, and "spicy" cats. We quickly realized that this population needed attention more than the friendly, well-minded, and adoption-ready animals that had multiple adopters waiting for them.
That was when a shift was made and we decided to specifically focus on these "underdogs" of Animal Welfare. Since then, our numbers have not been as high, but our impact has been just as great. We have helped many "spicy" cats go from hissy to purring. We have helped sickly neonates regain their strength and go on to live full lives. We have lost sleep feeding bottle babies and raised them to adoption age where they moved on to their Forever Homes. We have taken in entire families of cats and co-parented with Momma until everyone found their Forever Homes. By focusing on these populations, we have truly found our niche in Rescue.
